Scott Harestad

Scott was raised in Spring Lake, MI where he was very active in sports; playing football, tennis, golf, and sailing, along with water and snow skiing. He went to Western Michigan University and was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity.

His friends say “he’s been a salesman his entire life”. After college he sold displays in CA and GA for 10 years and ran his own business before becoming a land developer, realtor and broker in Knoxville, TN from 2001 to 2011. In 2012 he moved back home to Spring Lake, MI, joined Greenridge Realty, coined himself “Your Favorite Realtor” and quickly became one of their top producing agents.

He is married to his wife Wendy and between them, they have 5 beautiful daughters. He was named People’s Choice Agent of The Year in 2015, Commodore of the SLYC in 2016 and is currently the Vice Commodore of the MC Sailing Association. When he’s not listing or selling houses, he stays busy sailing, golfing, boating and attending sporting events.

Mary Middleton

Mary was born and raised in Grand Rapids, MI, but moved to Chicago to follow her dream of living in the “big city” shortly after graduating from Michigan State University. While there, she established a successful career as a marketing communications leader at Chicago’s top PR agencies.

Sixteen years, a husband and two children later, her own family’s love for Lake Michigan and a desire to be closer to family led them to relocate back to West Michigan. “I’ve been coming to Grand Haven for 25-years and have so many wonderful memories here, so when we were trying to figure out where to move, we selected the lakeshore as the perfect place for our family,” says Mary. “The outdoor lifestyle and connection to nature here is second-to-none.”

Mary joined Scott Harestad’s team as a marketing coordinator in 2017 and fell in love with real estate while working closely with Scott, who inspired her to become a licensed realtor. “I’m a people person and I love getting to know our client’s and then see them happy with their real estate transactions.”

In her spare time, Mary likes to keep fit by biking, walking or jogging around Grand Haven; catch a live band anywhere around town; and relax on the beach with her husband Joe and two children.

Samantha Verplank

Samantha’s passion for real estate and architecture started when she first visited the Frank Lloyd Wright designed Meyer May home in her home town of Grand Rapids. Whether it be the Palace of Versailles, Mayan ruins in Macchu Piccu or temples in Kyoto, Japan, Samantha has followed her enthusiasm for design around the world.

“I’m motivated to be in real estate because I have the opportunity to tour old and new homes and help people find that diamond in the rough that becomes a home that is purposeful, practical and maybe even their dream home come true!”

Samantha is a graduate of Michigan State University. She studied Supply Chain Management and has always prided herself on finding the most efficient way to accomplish tasks. Whether it’s avoiding the school pick-up lines or maximizing an evening home-tour schedule with busy clients, Samantha enjoys operating a well-organized program.

She is an avid Peloton rider (Boss Rides with Ally Love are her favorite), yogi, skier, tennis player, and golfer. Samantha enjoys spending time with her husband, being an Uber driver for her children and catching some fresh air and calm moments on the bike path with her dog, Trixie. “We live in a beautiful community with exciting developments, strong leaders, and lots of opportunities to give back. I’m so proud to be a part of it.” She has been partners with Scott since 2015 and is grateful to work with someone on a daily basis that is positive and upbeat!
